Best Bird Fests 2013
A Calendar of Festivals on or near National Wildlife Refuges. To see great masses of birds, look for festivals that coincide with spring or fall migration. Here are some major refuge-centered festivals scheduled for 2013:
Erie National Wildlife Refuge
The Erie NWR is truly a natural gem of Pennsylvania, teeming with wildlife and wild lands and offering opportunities for the public to experience nature in all seasons.
Iroquois National Wildlife Refuge
In 2007 Erie NWR was complexed with Iroquois NWR near Buffalo, NY. Both refuges are now managed under the Iroquois NWR office.
Friends of Iroquois National Wildlife Refuge
The Friends of Iroquois NWR is a not-for-profit organization dedicated to educating the public about the Iroquois National Wildlife Refuge and the plants and animals found therein, and to advocating for the refuge and its programs and needs.

U.S. Fish & Wildlife Service
The U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service manages the 93 million-acre National Wildlife Refuge System of more than 520 National Wildlife Refuges and thousands of small wetlands and other special management areas. Under the Fisheries program they also operate 69 National Fish Hatcheries, 64 fishery resource offices and 78 ecological services field stations.
